Narrative:

During a heavy maintenance check; the emergency exit wall panel upper handle was installed upside-down by other technicians. Later; myself and another technician installed the exit hatch onto the aircraft and did not see that the handle was mis-installed. Callback conversation with reporter revealed the following information: reporter stated the upside down emergency exit handle was noticed at the gate prior to departure and corrected before flight dispatch.

Title: TWO MECHANICS INSTALLED AN EMERGENCY EXIT INTERIOR WALL PANEL ON AN EMB-145LR ACFT; NOT REALIZING THE UPPER EXIT HANDLE HAD BEEN INSTALLED UPSIDE DOWN WHILE IN THE REPAIR SHOP.

Narrative: DURING A HVY MAINT CHK; THE EMER EXIT WALL PANEL UPPER HANDLE WAS INSTALLED UPSIDE-DOWN BY OTHER TECHNICIANS. LATER; MYSELF AND ANOTHER TECHNICIAN INSTALLED THE EXIT HATCH ONTO THE ACFT AND DID NOT SEE THAT THE HANDLE WAS MIS-INSTALLED. CALLBACK CONVERSATION WITH RPTR REVEALED THE FOLLOWING INFO: REPORTER STATED THE UPSIDE DOWN EMERGENCY EXIT HANDLE WAS NOTICED AT THE GATE PRIOR TO DEPARTURE AND CORRECTED BEFORE FLIGHT DISPATCH.
