Narrative:
Walkarounds are subjective at best. What myself or another amt may find is completely different. I look at these airplanes day in and day out and unless something like this does not just jump out at me; I could miss it due to aircraft landing gear being dirty a majority of the time. I; in all sincerity; did not 'pencil whip' this or any other item that is not specific to a general walkaround. The FAA inspector's concern is that I missed a wiring harness with chaffing. He references step 5(a) as the part of the check that is in question. The issue was corrected after being brought to my attention. I do plan on being more cognizant in the future.
