Narrative:
Cruising at FL380 en route from ZZZ to ZZZ2; overhead ZZZ1; we noticed the cockpit got quiet followed by an ECAM for avionics cooling fault. We had completed the steps for this ECAM and were in the process of contacting maintenance for further information when we got another ECAM for avionics smoke that called for us to land as soon as possible. We masked up and declared an emergency. Deciding upon ZZZ1 as the divert. At no time during the emergency was smoke detected by flight crew or passenger in either the cockpit or the cabin. Flight attendants were notified of the nature of the emergency and told to prepare for a 'cabin advisory.' we completed the ECAM and sent a message to dispatch advising we were headed to ZZZ1 as a divert. Uneventful landing was made at ZZZ1. We taxied clear under ship's power and advised passenger and flight attendants to remain seated. We had ZZZ1 fire fighting personnel inspect the avionics compartment and they found no evidence of smoke or fire. At this point we taxied to gate under ship's power and deplaned the aircraft normally via the jetway.

WE HAD ZZZ1 FIRE FIGHTING PERSONNEL INSPECT THE AVIONICS COMPARTMENT AND THEY FOUND NO EVIDENCE OF SMOKE OR FIRE. AT THIS POINT WE TAXIED TO GATE UNDER SHIP'S PWR AND DEPLANED THE ACFT NORMALLY VIA THE JETWAY.
