Narrative:

I was assigned to change a valve on aircraft X. After job was completed; the check valve was leak checked and the nose landing gear doors were operated. Per the procedures manual; since the rig was not affected; there was not a need for an rii. I then signed for the accomplished task on the write-up. I was informed that after a quality assurance audit they felt that this task required an rii; and since I did not circle the rii and have it done I was issued a non compliance. I feel the definition of landing gear in the procedures manual does not require an rii for this part.
