Narrative:
Upon inspection of aircraft by myself; mr X; and mr Y; we determined the leak was coming from #2 hydraulic system aileron manifold assembly. In communication with maintenance control; mr X asked if it required an rii inspection and was informed by maintenance control it was not required on completion of repair. New manifold assembly was installed in aircraft. Operations check good.supplemental information from acn 682876: when we got back to the hangar we were talking to the quality control inspector and he informed us that the item was rii and he would inform the company that there was a problem. I realize that we should have known the item was rii; but we were working away from our base on a road trip and maintenance control representative informed us that it was not.supplemental information from acn 682877: we had no access to maintenance manuals; or rii list; and we relied on maintenance control for all of the proper procedures and information to complete the task. They failed to give us all the necessary information to properly perform the task; including that this item was an rii.
