Narrative:
After landing on runway 17L; dfw; we were cleared to hold short runway 17C at el and we complied. Holding short of runway 17C at el; we were #2 behind air carrier X; who was then cleared to cross runway 17C. We were then cleared to cross runway 17C; hold short runway 17R which I read back verbatim. As the captain pushed the throttles up and we started to move; crossing the hold short line; tower called and told us to stop. We stopped but were already past the hold short line with our nose resting just prior to the edge of runway 17C. The tower then told a landing aircraft to go around. We were then cleared to cross runway 17C and runway 17R; contact ground on 121.65. After arriving at the gate; the captain called the tower to find out what happened and was told the controller initially thought he had enough room to cross us and then changed his mind; leaving us stuck at the edge of the runway. The captain was also told we heard the clearance correctly and read it back correctly and the controller made a mistake.

Title: ACR HOLDING BETWEEN RWY'S AFTER LNDG DFW WAS CLRED TO CROSS; THEN TOLD TO HOLD AFTER PASSING HOLD LINE; ACFT ON FINAL ISSUED ATC GAR.
Narrative: AFTER LNDG ON RWY 17L; DFW; WE WERE CLRED TO HOLD SHORT RWY 17C AT EL AND WE COMPLIED. HOLDING SHORT OF RWY 17C AT EL; WE WERE #2 BEHIND ACR X; WHO WAS THEN CLRED TO CROSS RWY 17C. WE WERE THEN CLRED TO CROSS RWY 17C; HOLD SHORT RWY 17R WHICH I READ BACK VERBATIM. AS THE CAPT PUSHED THE THROTTLES UP AND WE STARTED TO MOVE; XING THE HOLD SHORT LINE; TWR CALLED AND TOLD US TO STOP. WE STOPPED BUT WERE ALREADY PAST THE HOLD SHORT LINE WITH OUR NOSE RESTING JUST PRIOR TO THE EDGE OF RWY 17C. THE TWR THEN TOLD A LNDG ACFT TO GO AROUND. WE WERE THEN CLRED TO CROSS RWY 17C AND RWY 17R; CONTACT GND ON 121.65. AFTER ARRIVING AT THE GATE; THE CAPT CALLED THE TWR TO FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENED AND WAS TOLD THE CTLR INITIALLY THOUGHT HE HAD ENOUGH ROOM TO CROSS US AND THEN CHANGED HIS MIND; LEAVING US STUCK AT THE EDGE OF THE RWY. THE CAPT WAS ALSO TOLD WE HEARD THE CLRNC CORRECTLY AND READ IT BACK CORRECTLY AND THE CTLR MADE A MISTAKE.
