Narrative:
Taking runway 16L at sea the raas announcement interfered with the takeoff checklist with the takeoff checklist; necessitating its repetition. Raas also interfered with hearing tower calls to other aircraft; thus reducing flight crew situational awareness. Get raas off our aircraft before it causes an incident or accident.

Title: B737-800 CAPTAIN DISCUSSES DISRUPTION TO NORMAL COCKPIT DUTIES BY INTRUSIVE RAAS ANNOUNCEMENTS.
Narrative: TAKING RWY 16L AT SEA THE RAAS ANNOUNCEMENT INTERFERED WITH THE TKOF CHKLIST WITH THE TKOF CHKLIST; NECESSITATING ITS REPETITION. RAAS ALSO INTERFERED WITH HEARING TWR CALLS TO OTHER ACFT; THUS REDUCING FLT CREW SITUATIONAL AWARENESS. GET RAAS OFF OUR ACFT BEFORE IT CAUSES AN INCIDENT OR ACCIDENT.
