Narrative:
After takeoff; flight crew got a landing gear fail message on EICAS when trying to raise landing gear. Flight did air return to ZZZ. Flight returned to ZZZ and maintenance was called out to troubleshoot and found the JO775 connector in nose landing gear wheel well loose. They fully engaged connector and performed landing gear operations check of landing gear system. During phase 'a' check the night before; I performed work card 32. Connector JO775 was not fully reattached and caused an in-flight landing gear fail message and gear not to retract. This work card could/should be done in reverse order with operations check of the landing gear system as the last step.
