Narrative:
During routine maintenance found fuel metering unit leaking. I believe that this is a safety issue because this is a common occurrence in c-check. The fuel metering unit (fmu) is usually leaking out of a weep hole; or the top cover; or the cannon plug. This type leak I believe is dangerous; because it leaks inside the fan cowl area; not overboard like a drain tube leak. If you check the usage of fmu's; you will find we change these a lot.

Title: A Mechanic reports that while changing numerous fuel control units (FCU) that are usually leaking on Pratt-Whitney PW-2000 engines during routine C-Checks on their B757-200 aircraft; he has noticed many fuel leaks. He notes that the FCUs are usually leaking from a weep hole; or at the base of the cover for the electrical cavity cover; or the Canon plug connector base on the left side.
