Narrative:
We were cleared direct fam and I understood the BEERT4 arrival. After we passed fam ATC asked us if we were proceeding to arg. My first officer got into a conversation; don't remember the words but we had looked at the BEERT4 arrival and thought we were to go from fam 188 to rgill. ATC wanted fam; arg; evill; rgill. I reviewed our clearance and it showed fam direct arg. ATC said this happens a lot. There is a lead-in line from fam 188 that we followed. There is no line showing fam to arg on the beert 4 very confusing when you look at the lead in line from fam to rgill. Change the BEERT4 and remove the lead-in line from fam to rgill. A change is needed since ATC said this happens a lot.
