Narrative:
The r-hand aft position light primary light is inoperative. I re-lamped the light assembly and still inoperative. I removed and replaced the aft position light assembly and I had a hard time in aligning the holes for the screws. I was able to install it by putting a lot of force. I performed operations test before installing the screws; but I was interrupted to another job; installed a missing static wick on left wing. I worked in the avionics shop B717 handset and battery pack. Then on aircraft X worked on write-up for auxiliary hydraulic pump test. I was changing my clothes ready to go home; I found screws on my shirt pocket. I immediately talk to mr X and mr Y telling them that I forget to install the screws on the aft position light. I went home and around XA30 aircraft return back to ZZZ and was corrected. Supervisor notified. Cause: allowed to be interrupted during the installation. Ensure job is complete before starting another job.
