Narrative:
Flying en route; lost left hydraulics system. Diverted to ZZZ. The ptu did not work -- we had to do the alternate gear extension and the alternate flap extension. I also had emergency equipment standing by. Landing was normal and we were towed to the gate by a tug.

Title: B757-200 LOSES LEFT HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. DIVERTS TO NEARBY AIRPORT WHEN PTU FAILS TO OPERATE.
Narrative: FLYING ENRTE; LOST L HYDS SYS. DIVERTED TO ZZZ. THE PTU DID NOT WORK -- WE HAD TO DO THE ALTERNATE GEAR EXTENSION AND THE ALTERNATE FLAP EXTENSION. I ALSO HAD EMER EQUIP STANDING BY. LNDG WAS NORMAL AND WE WERE TOWED TO THE GATE BY A TUG.
