Narrative:
During climb; the left hydraulic low pressure light illuminated with associated EICAS message. We performed the QRH checklist and discussed the problem with dispatch and maintenance. We decided to return to ZZZ. An emergency was declared with ATC and we landed ZZZ overweight.

Narrative: DURING CLB; THE L HYD LOW PRESSURE LIGHT ILLUMINATED WITH ASSOCIATED EICAS MESSAGE. WE PERFORMED THE QRH CHKLIST AND DISCUSSED THE PROB WITH DISPATCH AND MAINT. WE DECIDED TO RETURN TO ZZZ. AN EMER WAS DECLARED WITH ATC AND WE LANDED ZZZ OVERWT.
