Narrative:
I received line call to re-evaluate damage to aft cargo door skin on log page. Measured dent and found to be within limit reference srm. Was notified that dent was re-measured per FAA request and was found to be out of allowable limits with no further action and actually in deferrable limits and placed on deferral status at that time. Met aircraft at gate and re-measured dent again and found to be 7 inches long and 3.2 inches wide and .0115 inches deep west/Y = 27.82 which is below the minimum of 30 but still within deferrable limits. Measured at night with flashlight and 12 inch ruler and tooling depth gauge has wide feet which are on top of 2 rows of rivets which are not flush with skin.
