An engineering change was accomplished to the cockpit door striker assembly; without my knowledge at the time. I inadvertently installed the wrong part.

Title: MECHANIC REPORTS HE WAS NOT AWARE THAT HIS CARRIER PREVIOUSLY ACCOMPLISHED AN ENGINEERING CHANGE TO THE COCKPIT DOOR STRIKER ASSEMBLY OF AN A300; RESULTING IN HIS INSTALLATION OF THE WRONG PART FOR THE ASSEMBLY.
Narrative: AN ENGINEERING CHANGE WAS ACCOMPLISHED TO THE COCKPIT DOOR STRIKER ASSEMBLY; WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE AT THE TIME. I INADVERTENTLY INSTALLED THE WRONG PART.
