Narrative:

The aircraft was bought about 1 month prior. The analog gauges conflicted with the digital since time of purchase. The flight originated at an airstrip 20 mi south of ZZZ1. It was necessary to ferry the plane 19 mi to ZZZ2 to pick up passenger. The eventful trip was from ZZZ2 to ZZZ3. There was 2.7 hours of fuel and 7 quarts of oil during the preflight at the airstrip. No visible oil was noted during the walkaround at ZZZ2. The first 20 mins (approximately) into the flight were normal. 20 mins in (approximately); oil pressure dropped to the yellow which spiked my attention. Oil temperature remained normal; cht was normal as were all other engine instruments. 14 (approximately) mins past with oil pressure declining; oil temperature remaining normal; then partial power was lost. I was 15 NM from ZZZ1 when I began my turn and told center I was deviating because of that; however; I did not declare an emergency. Finally; a complete engine failure followed 45 seconds (approximately) later along with smoke as I declared an emergency. When landing was assured; I lowered the landing gear and made a successful landing on runway xx. I called center on the ground to confirm my landing. Before the incident; oil pressure was checked at maintenance and found to be normal. The analog gauge was found inaccurate. The edm 800 gave the oil temperature and cht which were accurate.

Title: A MOONEY PILOT EXPERIENCED LOW OIL PRESSURE AND PARTIAL POWER LOSS SO HE DIVERTED TO A NEARBY AIRPORT. ENROUTE TO THE DIVERSION FIELD THE ENGINE FAILED COMPLETELY AND A SUCCESSFUL DEAD STICK LANDING WAS ACCOMPLISHED.

Narrative: THE ACFT WAS BOUGHT ABOUT 1 MONTH PRIOR. THE ANALOG GAUGES CONFLICTED WITH THE DIGITAL SINCE TIME OF PURCHASE. THE FLT ORIGINATED AT AN AIRSTRIP 20 MI S OF ZZZ1. IT WAS NECESSARY TO FERRY THE PLANE 19 MI TO ZZZ2 TO PICK UP PAX. THE EVENTFUL TRIP WAS FROM ZZZ2 TO ZZZ3. THERE WAS 2.7 HRS OF FUEL AND 7 QUARTS OF OIL DURING THE PREFLT AT THE AIRSTRIP. NO VISIBLE OIL WAS NOTED DURING THE WALKAROUND AT ZZZ2. THE FIRST 20 MINS (APPROX) INTO THE FLT WERE NORMAL. 20 MINS IN (APPROX); OIL PRESSURE DROPPED TO THE YELLOW WHICH SPIKED MY ATTN. OIL TEMP REMAINED NORMAL; CHT WAS NORMAL AS WERE ALL OTHER ENG INSTS. 14 (APPROX) MINS PAST WITH OIL PRESSURE DECLINING; OIL TEMP REMAINING NORMAL; THEN PARTIAL PWR WAS LOST. I WAS 15 NM FROM ZZZ1 WHEN I BEGAN MY TURN AND TOLD CTR I WAS DEVIATING BECAUSE OF THAT; HOWEVER; I DID NOT DECLARE AN EMER. FINALLY; A COMPLETE ENG FAILURE FOLLOWED 45 SECONDS (APPROX) LATER ALONG WITH SMOKE AS I DECLARED AN EMER. WHEN LNDG WAS ASSURED; I LOWERED THE LNDG GEAR AND MADE A SUCCESSFUL LNDG ON RWY XX. I CALLED CTR ON THE GND TO CONFIRM MY LNDG. BEFORE THE INCIDENT; OIL PRESSURE WAS CHKED AT MAINT AND FOUND TO BE NORMAL. THE ANALOG GAUGE WAS FOUND INACCURATE. THE EDM 800 GAVE THE OIL TEMP AND CHT WHICH WERE ACCURATE.
