Narrative:
Captain called me to cockpit 2 hours before landing to tell me they smelled burning coming from air vent in right side cockpit. Captain told me to ask flight attendants to check cabin and galleys for burning smells. He turned off all power to galleys; videos; sleeper seats; etc. We checked. I reported back to captain. Captain advised we would land in 15-20 minutes. First officer told me to tell flight attendants to prepare cabin for normal landing. I briefed all flight attendants by call and went to each cabin to tell each one. Captain said he would make announcement to passenger; which he did; to tell them we were making unscheduled landing because of the smell in cockpit. Captain said 'remain seated.' I thought maybe he wanted to make sure no one initiated an unnecessary evacuation. Firemen came on; checked plane; found nothing and passengers got off.
