Narrative:
Shortly after takeoff from runway xx at ZZZ there was a 'pop' heard from the cabin; followed by an engine 1 bleed leak EICAS warning message. The aircraft was leveled off at 4000 ft MSL. The flight attendant reported a burning smell. At this time the captain started to run the quick reference handbook checklist and notified ATC. The flight attendant reported smoke in the cabin and the captain declared an emergency. ATC began to vector us for a return to landing on runway xx at ZZZ. The captain continued to run the checklists and shut down the #1 engine. The captain then took the controls and executed the approach and landing. After coming to a stop; the aircraft was evacuated.
