Narrative:
Aircraft (requesting an altitude above FL250) climbed east out of crw to FL230. Developmental flashed aircraft to 'west' for ZDC; should have flashed to the sector that owns from the ground to FL240. The aircraft actually flashed to the sector that owns FL250 and above. They took the handoff. While solving a conflicting in another part of the sector; developmental was late in switching aircraft to ZDC. ZDC lo sector calls and says aircraft was pointout approved and put him on the ZDC high sector. An hour later; the ZDC operations manager determines the controller did not see the aircraft until after entering their airspace (ZDC lo).
