Narrative:
This event occurred while flying the watts 3 RNAV arrival into salt lake city. The autopilot was coupled. During this arrival; the aircraft initiated the appropriate turn over oquir waypoint toward pittt waypoint. During this turn; all vertical and lateral navigation data failed. In an attempt to recover this lost information; we observed we had experienced a hard failure of the FMS. With the assistance of ATC vectors; we completed the arrival and approach into salt lake city. Prior to any further flight; avionics systems will be repaired as necessary.
