Narrative:
While descending into burbank, ca had to listen to ATIS on 134.5 four times because of interference from common frequency at bay approach. It takes valuable time from other duties. Especially going into burbank, it takes away from looking outside for numerous small airplanes. Also arriving from the east because of ATC arrival altitude (low) it is difficult to pick up unless you break squelch or get within 25 miles. Here again over palmdale if you break squelch you will also hear bay approach.
