Narrative:
Initially cleared into position and hold runway 34. Airbus issued landing clearance for a 6 mile final to runway 34. We continued to sit on the runway. I tuned up radio #2 to make sure we were not in a dead spot for radio #1. I queried the controller to see if they could hear us. Controller indicated they did and we continued to sit on the runway. The controller then issued us a takeoff clearance and we acknowledged it and set takeoff power for the departure. Immediately after that; controller issued a go-around for the airbus flight. Controller then had us abort our takeoff which occurred at less than 40 KTS. We cleared the runway; ran the appropriate checklists; and departed after 10 minutes or so at the end of runway 34 again. Controller indicated that there was a vehicle on the approach end of runway 16 and that was the reason our takeoff was aborted.
