Narrative:

Took off ZZZ as pilot flying. During climbout at approximately 6;500 ft received a master warning 'tail compartment hot.' captain completed memory items. Light did not go out. Captain then turned off both bleeds; which extinguished the master warning. Returned to ZZZ and landed 6;000 pounds over landing weight. Hot day with temperature around 102 degrees. Made a shallow approach to land on the runway 13R numbers; maximum reverse and minimum braking to stop the aircraft at the end of runway. Brakes stayed cool. Taxied back to the gate with arff as escort.
