Narrative:
Due to weather; we were delayed. After engine start; we received a 'bagg extg btl inoperative' EICAS message. The captain made me aware of the message and I asked him if we needed to write-up and document the message in the logbook. He said; 'no; I'll take care of it.' we then departed and flew to dfw without further incident. Once we were at the gate at dfw the captain called maintenance.
