Narrative:
Passing thru approximately 17000 ft heard a loud noise from the back off the airplane the flight attendant called. Said I would talk to the captain and get back to her in a minute. Just about the time I had checked the cabin altitude and talked with the captain; heard a loud pop and saw that the cabin was climbing. Called ATC and requested a lower altitude (8000 ft) and set it. Captain followed the company procedures and started an immediate descent. All procedures were followed; landed and deplaned the passenger. The seal on the main door separated from the door.
