Narrative:
The situation occurred following an asymmetric flap landing at newark. We were concerned about getting the flap problem repaired prior to the next flight and consequently overlooked a procedure associated with the flap problem. During the asymmetric flap procedure the GPWS switch is turned off. A maintenance entry should have been made to check and reinstate the GPWS system. We first realized our error after departure on the next flight. The GPWS switch was on and the safety cover down but not safety wired. Proper maintenance action was taken after landing. We discovered our problem at 2000' and were given clearance to climb to 3000'. It was quite turbulent and the radio calls frequent which made the accomplishment of our checklist a task. I believe we were so relieved after landing that we were lulled into not reviewing the event and thereby overlooking the associated problem.

Title: ACR LGT FLT CREW FORGOT TO MAKE ACFT LOG BOOK ENTRY FOLLOWING AN ASYMMETRICAL FLAP LNDG WITH GPWS DEACTIVATED. ACFT DEP WITH GPWS ON BUT NOT SAFETY WIRED.
Narrative: THE SITUATION OCCURRED FOLLOWING AN ASYMMETRIC FLAP LANDING AT NEWARK. WE WERE CONCERNED ABOUT GETTING THE FLAP PROBLEM REPAIRED PRIOR TO THE NEXT FLIGHT AND CONSEQUENTLY OVERLOOKED A PROCEDURE ASSOCIATED WITH THE FLAP PROBLEM. DURING THE ASYMMETRIC FLAP PROCEDURE THE GPWS SWITCH IS TURNED OFF. A MAINT ENTRY SHOULD HAVE BEEN MADE TO CHECK AND REINSTATE THE GPWS SYSTEM.
