Work card was accomplished; item 2 stated a fault existed and was already an item being followed. Work card is not clear on what action should be taken; poor training and no communications between mechanics and maintenance control. Work card can be made much clearer on what procedures should be taken when a fault is already being tracked.

Title: After accomplishing an Overnight Check on an A319; a Mechanic noticed the work card requiring a cockpit MCDU check of the left engine FADEC with Channels 'A' and 'B' faults; resulted in data their Maintenance Control already received; in-flight; from each engine FADEC.
Narrative: Work card was accomplished; item 2 stated a fault existed and was already an item being followed.
