Narrative:

After departing nashville, tn airport, the gear was retracted. Retraction appeared to be normal, but the gear door open light remained on. The gear was recycled with the gear door open light remaining on. The procedure for the problem was reviewed and the flight continued to phl while all airspeed limitations were observed. A visual approach to runway 27R in phl was accomplished normally. The emergency landing gear extension level was pulled up and latched up as per the checklist. The aircraft was stopped on the runway and maintenance pinned the gear, also per published procedures. The aircraft sustained minor damage and the active runway was closed for several mins. FAA tower and ground personnel were advised of our situation well in advance of our arrival as was our own maintenance department. All checklists and procedures as well as all aircraft limitations were observed.
