Narrative:
During the summer months our commercial weather forecasting service has been relieved of the task of forecasting two of our hubs. During that time we get our weather forecasts for these two airport from the NWS taf. I understand the purpose of this is so that the commercial forecasters can focus on convective forecasting during the summer convective season. Today was a day where the mid atlantic had a large area of thunderstorms impacting the national airspace system. With numerous flights heading to the metro airports and thunderstorms and air traffic delays the dispatchers working the floor got absolutely no weather support from the commercial weather forecasters this afternoon on how fast the weather was moving; expected time of impact; and how long it would be impacting those airports
