Narrative:
This report pertains to a schedule to operate in june 2009. On the monthly bid package; this trip consisted of a total of 07:58 of block time during a single duty period. Upon check-in for this pairing; the scheduling print out reflected 08:09 of block time. Upon completion of this pairing the total actual block time was 08:47. My concern is directed toward the scheduling and line construction practices that result in pairings that exceed the federally mandated flight time and duty limits. Notwithstanding unforeseen circumstances; and those only magnifying the above concern; this scheduling practice results in fatigue and in a degradation of safety that is not consistent with the intent of federal mandates and safe operating practices.

Title: A319 First Officer is scheduled to fly a one day trip originally blocked at 7+58 hours. Upon check in scheduling computer shows trip as 8+09 hours. Actual flight time was 8+47 hours.
