Narrative:
Due to APU deferral; we left the #2 engine running when we arrived at the gate (for cooling on a 86 degree day.) after we stopped the aircraft with the parking brake set; the nosewheel was chocked; and the woman driving the belt loader started approaching the aircraft in front of the running #2 engine. I (first officer) immediately shut down the #2 engine to avoid injury to coworker. Engine shut down normally; and nothing was ingested into the intake.
