Runway awareness advisory system directly interfered with the takeoff clearance from tower. The system interfered with the takeoff clearance. Poor design of the raas system. Takeoff clearance had to be repeated from tower. This unsafe and ineffective system should be disabled and removed from the aircraft.

Title: Air carrier departure voiced concern regarding Runway Awareness Advisory System (RAAS) functionality; claiming RAAS activation interfered with ATC takeoff clearance; adding the RAAS equipment should be disabled.
Narrative: Runway Awareness Advisory System directly interfered with the takeoff clearance from tower. The system interfered with the takeoff clearance. Poor design of the RAAS system.
