During normal VNAV path descent on the arrival passing 22000 ft; left engine failed with low oil pressure indication; below idle fuel flow; N1 and N2. Followed procedure for engine failure and shut down the left engine. Declared an emergency and requested the longest runway. Uneventful landing and rollout. Taxied clear of the runway and continued to the gate.
