Narrative:

During arrival; the purser called from the aft galley informing cockpit of a burning smell. He also reported that there was no visible smoke and that nearby panels felt normal. The smell was distinct however; and noticeable out to the last three rows of the cabin. Captain declared an emergency with ATC and continued to an uneventful landing. Fire crews inspected the exterior of the aircraft; observed nothing unusual and cleared us to taxi to the gate where the passengers deplaned calmly. Fire crews inspected the aft galley area and found no evidence of fire. Aircrew submitted the discrepancy report to maintenance.
