Narrative:
Recently; the pilots of my air carrier have received a threatening email from management. It states if we don't increase our on-time performance we will lose our jobs. My issue with this is that the times established are not reasonable and do not take into account delays of any kind. This will force us into not writing up necessary items on already aging equipment; not abiding by FAA procedures and will sacrifice safety of passengers and crew. We are working hard but this intimidation adds stress to pilots already suffering from furloughs and down sizing.
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: A pilot reported that his air carrier is threatening pilots with disciplinary action because of on time performance issues. He alleges that some performance deterrents are beyond the flight crew's control and that attempting compliance may cause crews to perform unsafely or violate regulations.
