Narrative:

Short field takeoff runway 27 with simulated engine failure after takeoff with remaining runway. Student pilot was flying. Tower cleared us for takeoff runway 27 and approved our requested simulated engine failure during takeoff. We did a short field takeoff and rotated at 55 KTS. After lift-off at 50 ft and airspeed 65 KTS; I pulled the throttle to idle to simulate the engine failure. Student did not pitch down in time so we lost airspeed and started to descend. No power was added. I tried to correct the mistakes and take the controls but student froze on the controls and I could not correct it in time. Just before we hit the ground I was able to add full power. We touched down hard on the main gear; tail hit the ground and the nose gear struck the ground so hard that it was bent forward. We bounced up in the air again; I had the controls at this moment. I landed the airplane on the remaining runway 27 and taxied off taxiway A5.the airplane was hard to steer on the ground due to the bent nose gear. Student complained afterwards that the airplane was trimmed with a nose up attitude.
