Narrative:

During cruise; started to smell something abnormal; shut off gasper fan; and recirculation fans. Smell started to go away. Then we had a no land 3 status message. Followed by a status message of main battery; and battery charger. Called maintenance. Captain and I decided to to back to departure airport. Declared an emergency with center; and went back to our departure airport. Did an overweight landing 518;000 pounds. Had airplane checked with air fire rescue; all checked normal; went to gate. Airplane was fixed and we left.
