Narrative:

While cruising at FL240 I noticed the message 'pfd mon fail' on the engine display. At the same time the #1 pfd displayed a myriad of messages. All my flight instruments were removed and replaced with red 'X's or 'XXX' fail messages. We were about half way between departure and destination airports. Maintenance; dispatch; and I concluded that it would be just as safe to continue; as it was to divert. I notified ATC of our loss of instruments per fars. We landed at the destination airport without further incident. A mechanic ran tests and corrected the issue. A failure; or unacceptable parameter from the afcs would be cause for it to be removed from giving flight information. Thus removing all flight information associated with the affected pfd.
