Narrative:
Approaching airport to refuel. Engine failed from lack of fuel. Emergency landed the aircraft in a field less than 2 miles from airport. Cause of incident was due to getting preoccupied with my work. I went over the time limit for my fuel capacity when I ended up farther away from the closest refueling airport. To remedy this problem I will install a fuel timer with an alarm and seek remedial training.
