Narrative:
While taking off from runway 24 at teb our aircraft ballooned up to 1700 ft instead of the published level off of 1500 ft. This problem should have been mitigated more aggressively instead of a smooth level-off following the flight director. The departure altitude restriction was briefed by the crew prior to takeoff.
