Narrative:
During a routine audit of our inspection paperwork; it was found that a part of a scheduled inspection was missed. January 2008; the turbine section of the allison engine on the aircraft was removed for overhaul. At that time; a 2000 hour inspection was performed per rolls royce maintenance manual inspection guide. Number-8 of this inspection was not done because the compressor was not removed. This was an oversight in this case because the spur adapter gearshaft is in this area and was due for inspection. This was not caught until later when some maintenance on the compressor became due. More diligence is needed where the inspection paperwork is concerned. There must a concerted effort to make sure all items on any inspection guide are signed off at the time of the inspection. No damage was done to the engine; however there could have been a problem that was not corrected in a timely manner.
