Narrative:
After being cleared direct to mitoe and cleared for the visual approach to runway 29 in oak; we were descending from 3300 ft to 2500 ft MSL. At approximately 2800-2700 ft MSL; the egpws warning activated and I initiated the recovery procedure. About 2 seconds later; the terrain warning terminated and the visual approach and landing to runway 29 were completed without further incident.

Title: A B757 received an EGPWS alert at 2;800 FT descending over the Hayward hills on a visual approach for OAK Runway 29.
Narrative: After being cleared direct to MITOE and cleared for the visual approach to Runway 29 in OAK; we were descending from 3300 FT to 2500 FT MSL. At approximately 2800-2700 FT MSL; the EGPWS warning activated and I initiated the recovery procedure. About 2 seconds later; the terrain warning terminated and the visual approach and landing to Runway 29 were completed without further incident.
