Narrative:
After takeoff from we got a air conditioning look up light in the climb out at about 4000 feet. The first officer finished the after takeoff checklist then went to the emergency non normal for left bleed air leak. We ran the checklist procedure twice without being able to extinguish the light. It then tells you to proceed to the engine shutdown checklist. We then leveled off at 6000 feet. At this point I contacted the flight attendant and let her know we were going to be shutting down the left engine. After that I made a PA to the passengers letting them know what was going to happen. I then advised dispatch. We then started to go through the engine shutdown checklist. As we did this I told ATC that we would like vectors. We finished the checklist and then did the descent and approach checks. As we did that we needed a little extra time so I had ATC vector us through the course and come back to it. We intercepted the course at 13 miles out and got cleared for the visual. We then followed the approach and waited for the VASI. Once on glidepath we started the descent and got stabilized. I then took the autopilot off and got the feel of the airplane and went in for landing.
