Narrative:

I filed two different flight plans on an optimized route using our commercial flight planning system. The commercial system is supposed to ensure routing around restricted airspace. Both flights were filed on the same route. The route took them through restricted airspace of the active MOA R-2508 which it was not supposed to do. Oakland ATC center caught the incorrect route and rerouted both flights around the restricted airspace. Confirmation was received from both oakland center and the military that neither flight penetrated the restricted airspace. Oakland ATC center supervision notified my management of this event. The commercial vendor has been advised of the situation and are looking into a fix. We have been advised not to use the optimized routes in this area until the problem has been rectified. We think that our flight planning system was updated the weekend prior to this event and that the part of the program that ensures transiting around this restricted area dropped out without our knowledge.
