Narrative:
After pushback gen 1 could not be brought on line. Advised dispatch and maintenance control. Decision was made to proceed to our scheduled destination on APU and gen 2. At about fl 200; gen 2 dropped off line. Declared an emergency with ATC and landed at a nearby airport. Dispatching with only two generators and subsequent loss of another created in flight emergency.

Title: A B737 was dispatched with Gen 1 MEL'ed. During climb out Gen 2 dropped off the line. An emergency was declared and the flight diverted to nearby airport.
