Narrative:
Cleared by ATC to fly and descend via the budal one alfa. Line selectable in FMGC and inserted. Due to high workload; ensuring crossing met and picking up ATIS; etc.; the routing was not compared to the chart. Turns out the line selectable route does not match the charted route. Charted route has you fly from budal direct vitar. The FMGC route takes you towards cun but slightly east of the charted route. Due to the similarity of the routes we did not notice the error. Approximately 10 miles after budal ATC cleared us direct vitar. At that point we noticed that vitar was not in the FMGC and the route in the FMGC was different than charted. In the future I will more closely compare what is in the FMGC to the charted procedure.
Original NASA ASRS Text
