Narrative:
On a december morning of 2009; I did a compressor wash on a cl-65 . After reconnecting the 10th and 14th stage bleed lines; I used a mallet to tap on the clamps while torquing the b-nuts. When I finished I set the mallet on top of the right engine. Closed the cowling and forgot to recover the mallet. Did not notice mallet missing until next day. Aircraft was at ZZZ; informed supervisor there and they recovered mallet.I suggest to make sure tool box check is done before work is finished.
