Narrative:
Departed at maximum takeoff weight. About a half hour later received an ACARS message from operations/load control that an additional 2;028 pounds was loaded on aircraft and not included in the weight and balance (into bin #3). Dispatcher spoke with load planner who was distracted when additional cargo was added at the last minute. Though we exceeded max taxi and takeoff weights; neither taxi nor flying qualities were degraded. We exceeded takeoff weight by 1;828 pounds.
