Narrative:
Two airports in my area changed their name last summer and the airport/facilities directory has never been updated. They are franklin county (lhz) changed to 'triangle north' and sanford/lee county (tta) changed to 'raleigh executive.' pilots who rely on the directory to plan a flight have no idea that they are sharing the traffic pattern with other aircraft when they hear radio calls with the new name. This is dangerous! Why is there not a required documentation system that makes the name change effective on the day that it appears in the updated a/F directory?
Original NASA ASRS Text
Title: Airports LHZ and TTA have both changed names but FAA Charting and Commercial Publications documents do not reflect the change.
