Narrative:
On short final to runway 27L at sfb; the tower directed me to slide right to land on runway 27C; which I did. About 1/4 mile on final tower instructed me to go around because I was lined up with taxiway B; which I did. Runway 27C is poorly marked and the taxiway appears to be a better runway. I did a go around and on tower's instruction entered downwind for runway 27R and landed. I thought I was lined up properly for runway 27C. However; the tower operator didn't; hence the go around. Runway 27C could be better marked; the runway numbers are worn and difficult to see. The runway 27C approach end is a lot further west than runway 27R and is hard to pick out from the air. Perhaps if I would have been issued clearance to runway 27C at the start of the approach instead of sliding over from runway 27L to 27C there would have been less confusion.
